to start, here are three ideas:

                   Swallow's Day Parade

                     Saturday, March 24

                    San Juan Capistrano

Don't you just love a parade? The swallows parade

is the oldest non-motorized parade in California and

you can be part of it.

Do you want to participate as a rider or as a walker?

We have rented a wagon and horses and hope to

fill the wagon with those who want to participate

but can't walk the approximately two mile distance.

Plus we hope to have a large number of walkers.

Please sign up as a rider or walker with members

of the 100th anniversary team who will be on the

patio following services the next couple of Sundays.

Support For Habitat For Humanity
Habitat For Humanity

The Habitat for Humanity OC/Presbyterian Coalition

is a partnership of churches across Los Ranchos Presbytery

that are working together to support a new Habitat for Humanity

building site in Santa Ana. The Presbytery has authorized a

$10,000 grant to support this effort.

We hope to have folks continue their historic support of

Habitat for Humanity by participating in the build days

and various volunteer opportunities. Contact Dave Ludwig

or the church office at for more information.

FAM Satellite Program:

From our FAM partnership, some statistics shared by Mary Gray Perdue:

     732 families/households have visited

     the CPC-FAM Satellite

108 people helped who were homeless

     when they arrived

     $38,642 worth of food distributed

Thank you so much to all the folks who have volunteered.  Thank you also to Barbara Ward, Fran Eagan and Noah Strommen who volunteered from CPC.  Mary Gray Perdue and the leadership at FAM are thrilled to be able to provide this service to our neighbors in San Juan Capistrano and we are more than happy to offer ourselves and our space to enable this wonderful outreach.

We will be distributing food every Wednesday in the Youth Center, Building 2

between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

If you would like to help out, please contact Leanne Strommen at

Homework Club

Our Thursday Homework Club, meets at Kinoshita Elementary School every Thursday at 2:00 p.m..  Principal Pedraza is thrilled to be partnering with us and is so grateful for this extra assistance for their 3rd, 4th,and 5th grade students.

I am so thankful for the many people who have stepped up to make this important outreach activity a reality.  We could always use more hands.  If you can give even one day a month, it would make a big difference.  The kids are so sweet and the work is so rewarding.

I hope you'll consider joining us.
